Students enrolled in the Semester at SDSU program can consider the SDSU certificate programs listed below.
Basic Certificate in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language (TESL/TEFL)
This basic certificate requires 15 units in Linguistics 400- and 500-level courses, and a 15-hour tutoring practicum, which can be completed at the ALI.
Certificate in Environmental Studies
This program is designed to provide diverse ways for students to develop knowledge of the causes and consequences of the human impact on the environment. This professional development program offers a multi-disciplinary approach to environmental studies for teachers, natural resource managers, community activists, and others who are concerned about, and interested in the interaction of people and the environment.
Certificate in Gerontology
The Certificate Program in Gerontology is designed to broaden your knowledge in the growing area of working with an aging population.
EAP Summer Study Abroad
Advanced students with English proficiency at or above 550/80, or the equivalent, may qualify to take six to 12 undergraduate units during the EAP/San Diego State University Summer term.
